Diabetes Patients Screening & Treatment
Fundus Check
The fundus of the eye is the interior surface of the eye, opposite the lens, and includes the retina, optic disc, macula and fovea, and posterior pole.
At Bhide Eye Clinic a systematic Fundus Check is done with the help of Fundus camera. It is a specialized low power microscope with an attached camera designed to photograph the interior surface of the eye, including the retina, optic disc, macula, and posterior pole (Fundus).
Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic retinopathy is retinopathy (damage to the retina) caused by complications of diabetes mellitus, which can eventually lead to blindness. It affects up to 80% of all patients who have had diabetes for 10 years or more. Research indicates that at least 90% of these new cases could be reduced if there was proper and vigilant treatment and monitoring of the eyes.
